Having taken Sarah's card from NEXT London I really wanted to up my game in regards to scouting the best new faces. However at this point I'd only really been scouting girls but I'd now have to enter a new phase of scouting guys as well, as Sarah is Head of the Men's board over at NEXT.
Soon after the Clothes Show Live, I went down to London to visit Sarah and met her colleague Ross from the women's board. It was such a cool meeting and I felt so comfortable talking to them and chatting and new straight away I was going to love working with them. As I didn't want to go empty handed I took my camera with me to show them some pics of some girls that I had scouted prior to the meeting including........
I'd just popped in to Primark to grab a pair of sock lol and saw Ashley sifting through some rails and had to dodge her Managers to get to her as not to get in to trouble.
Ashley tested with NEXT and had the opportunity to test with others but sadly her other commitments have not allowed it yet.
Then there was - Funmi from London.
It was amazing to come across Funmi as there was a definite gap at that moment in time for another great black model and boy does she know how to pack a punch with her shapes.
Funmi went and tested for several major agencies in London before taking up an opportunity internationally where I am sure she will do amazingly well!!
To stay on top of my game I needed to diversify and take on another challenge. At my meeting in London with Sarah and Ross it was suggested that I now scout for guys and girls!
In all honestly it was pretty weird scouting guys as first particularly as some of the looks I got were a bit strange, like why is another guy approaching me like this?! lol! Anyway we moved through it and I scouted my first guys back in the spring of 2011.
